Request time off in the Outstaffer platform. Your manager reviews the request, and you're notified when it's approved or rejected.

When to submit

If you're employed through Outstaffer:

  • Planned leave: at least 2 weeks before your leave starts.

  • Unplanned leave (for example sickness or an emergency): at least 2 hours before your shift starts.

If your company employs you directly and uses Outstaffer to manage its team, follow your company's leave policy.

How to request leave

  1. Open Leave requests. Select Leave requests in the menu. Your leave balances show at the top of the page.

  2. Click Create leave request. It's under Pending leave requests.

  3. Choose the Leave type. Leave types with a balance show how many days you have left, for example "5 days remaining".

  4. Choose the Leave duration. Pick Full day or Half day. In some countries you choose First half of the day or Second half of the day instead. A half day covers a single date.

  5. Pick the Start date and End date. Weekends and public holidays in your country aren't counted as leave days. Any public holidays in your dates are listed below the form. Paid leave days and Unpaid leave days fill in automatically.

  6. Add a comment. Comments to your manager is required. Use Add attachments for a medical certificate or other documents.

  7. Click Submit.

What happens next

The request shows as Submitted under Pending leave requests, and your manager gets a notification. When it's approved or rejected you get a notification, and the status changes to Approved or Rejected. Any note from your manager shows on the request.

Not enough balance

If you request more days than your available balance, the extra days are counted as unpaid leave. You see the split in Paid leave days and Unpaid leave days before you submit.

Your client's public holidays

You get the public holidays of the country you work in. Your client company's public holidays (for example in Australia or the US) aren't public holidays for you, so they're normal working days. If you want one of those days off, request leave for it like any other day. It's paid if you use paid leave, and unpaid if you don't have the balance.

Philippines employees

Submit your leave in the Outstaffer platform only. Don't also file it in Sprout. Your request reaches payroll from the platform.

Good to know

  • Leave must include at least one working day and must end within a year of the start date.

  • You can't request leave that overlaps another submitted or approved request.

  • You can't edit a request after submitting it. To change it, cancel it and submit a new one. See How to Cancel a Leave Request.
