How to Troubleshoot a Device or Connection Problem

Restart your device, check your cables and Wi-Fi/Ethernet connection, and install any pending updates first. If the problem continues, submit a Device Support request with what you've already tried.

Try these steps before contacting support. Most device and connection issues are resolved by the basic fixes below.

1. Basic fixes

  • Restart the device.

  • Check that all cables are connected properly.

  • Check your Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection is active.

  • Install any pending updates.

  • If the problem continues, submit a Device Support request in the platform, including what you've already tried.

2. If you're seeing a connection error (e.g. ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT)

  • Check whether other websites load normally.

  • Restart your router or modem.

  • Clear your browser cache (Ctrl+Shift+Delete).

  • Turn off any VPN or proxy and try again.

Good to know

  • IT Support may also walk you through flushing DNS (ipconfig /flushdns, /release, /renew) or switching to a public DNS such as Google DNS (8.8.8.8) or Cloudflare DNS (1.1.1.1). These are more advanced steps - try them only if support directs you to.
