A direct employee is someone your own company employs, through your own legal entity in their country. Adding them to Outstaffer puts their onboarding, documents, leave and timesheets in one place, on the Borderless HR plan. Borderless HR is free. Your company stays their legal employer.
If your company doesn't have an entity in the employee's country, choose EOR Employee instead. See Direct Employee or EOR Employee: Which Should I Choose?
Before you start
Only Account Owner users can start adding an employee.
To send the offer at the end, you need two-factor authentication set up and your company details complete. See How to Set Up Your Company Account.
Add the employee
Click Add an employee on your dashboard. The Add a new hire form opens. Click Save and continue to move to the next step, or Back to return to the previous one.

What happens next
You'll see Staff member created, and the employee moves to your onboarding list with the status Offer - sent. Outstaffer sends them the offer with the details you entered and invites them to the platform. They accept the offer and complete their onboarding there. Their status updates as each step is done, through to Active.
Your employment contract
Outstaffer doesn't create an employment contract for direct employees, and there's nowhere to upload one in the platform. Use your own company's employment contract and handle it outside Outstaffer.
Good to know
Because your company is the employer, you also run their payroll and taxes. No security deposit applies.
Not ready to send? Your progress is saved as a draft that you can come back to.
Once the employee is active, you can manage their leave, timesheets and documents in the platform.
