Many countries require employers to pay loaded rates for work performed on public holidays or during night hours. These loadings are set by local labour law and are applied automatically by Outstaffer's payroll system. They do not require your approval.
Public holiday loading varies with which days are actually worked, so it is captured in the reconciliation and billed on the debit invoice.
Night differential is handled differently for employees who work fixed night hours. From 1 September 2026, it is calculated from the employee's work schedule and billed in advance on your subscription invoice as its own line, then reconciled against actual payroll. This is where it was billed before the May 2026 billing migration, which had moved it into the reconciliation.
Employees on flexible arrangements, rotating rosters or variable hours are not billed this way. Their hours are not fixed in advance, so their night differential is paid on the hours actually worked and settles in the reconciliation. Night overtime, and night work on rest days and public holidays, also still settle there.
For example, an employee in the Philippines whose local shift falls between 10 PM and 6 AM receives a 10 percent night differential on those hours. Because the window is measured on the employee's local clock, a schedule that looks like a night shift in your time zone is not always a night shift in theirs.
